We aim to create a platform that shines a light on Melbourne Locals and international alike. Build an online community while simultaneously putting people in the room as we broadcast.
Tilt Shift sits firmly left of centre, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field with undefined edges used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Midweek sorted. No excuses.
Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It’s compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
Revolver Upstairs is one of Australia’s most respected nightclubs, and the late-night DJ spots showcase Melbourne’s best DJs, as well as frequently hosting interstate Australian and international touring DJs.
After the daytime service, live bands, art shows and restaurant taper down on Fridays, the club kicks off and runs right through to midday on Saturday. A few short hours later, the venue reopens at 5 pm, running right through until 9 am on Monday. The resident DJ roster reads like a who’s who of influential Melbourne artists, including such names as Ransom, Boogs, Mike Callander, Spacey Space, T-Rek, Sunshine and Lewis Cancut, amongst many others past and present. The Sunday day parties are a unique clubbing experience and have garnered a loyal following.
Visual art is a core part of Revolver Upstairs, showcased across multiple internal and external spaces. The iconic Back Bar poster wall is a permanent floor-to-ceiling 3.8 x 3.4 metre feature presenting monthly works by local and international artists. Revolver’s Seasons of Change program, presented with select curators, delivers large-scale external murals displayed for three months alongside one-night-only exhibitions, with limited edition prints produced for each event. Additional rotating works by local artists are presented in collaboration with Just Another Agency in the downstairs smoking yard, refreshed on a three-month cycle.
